About Bob

After two decades of passionately innovating in the material science space, I've become fascinated with our human experience.

Why?

Truthfully, while my business flourished, I didn't. And at one point, I realized I couldn't go on that way. Once the shell of my being was cracked open, my passionate curiosity took off. And I applied the same skills that helped me create materials that challenged what we once thought impossible to my human experience and spiritual being.

Questions like "How can I be better today than yesterday?" and "What's that really telling me?" began to dominate my existence.

I see many similarities between personal growth and developing novel materials for applications like space and extreme environments.

In both realms, you experiment with new things. You keep the things that work and discard the rest. Both are about chiseling away superfluous material to get to the core truth. Both are about accepting what you cannot change, changing what you can, and realizing the difference.

And when done well, you continually repeat the process until you have a beautiful and straightforward product.

As a creative scientist, all the work I've done around my body, mind, emotions, and spirituality has made me sharper and more enthusiastic about going deeper. It has also delivered the peace, harmony, and freedom I've always sought.

Being better every day allows you to contribute more effectively, appreciate your journey, and live in peace and harmony with us all.

I'm on a mission to help you realize that regardless of where you come from or what you have or haven't done, everyone has an opportunity to be better today than yesterday.

We cannot wait for life to be easy to be whole. We must do what we can, with what we have, where we are. Wholeness appears to have no limits, and life—well, it's rarely easy.

In this book, I share stories of my deepest struggles, dead ends, and messy transformations that helped me settle into being myself naturally—and better every day. I share the journey that helped me realize peace, harmony, and freedom.

Through years of seeking, learning, and reflecting with some of the world's most respected spiritual teachers, I discuss the practice of being fully alive and chiseling your own beautiful sculpture while also staying grounded in the material world of raising a son, running a company, and paying the bills.

Being better today requires asking yourself deep and meaningful questions with a relentless desire to know the answers.

The questions in this book can inspire you to cross your own personal chasm. They'll stir a desire to understand how to be better today, in any area of your life, than yesterday.
